Dear Church Family-
The rising cases of COVID nationwide and locally in Savannah, have us very concerned. This is not unexpected with the rise of the Omicron variant, which is highly transmittable, and the holiday gatherings. The local hospitals have seen a dramatic increase in cases and hospital admissions. We all know by now how to minimize our risks. These measures include vaccination, face coverings, social distancing, hand washing, etc…

With that being said, the committee strongly advises everyone to follow these safety measures. Mask wearing is strongly encouraged during Worship, Sunday School, and any other activity that is in a closed environment. As responsible adults, social distancing should be second nature by now and easy to adhere too. We are seeing an average attendance of between 100 to 125 at the 9:30 Worship Service and social distancing should not be a problem. We have also added chairs around the perimeter of the Sanctuary to aid in finding an appropriate seat. We simply do not have the volunteers to seat everyone individually.

Social distancing is everyone’s personal responsibility. Please spread out! Hopefully this current COVID rise is short lived and uneventful for you. Let’s all do our part to make it uneventful for others. On-line services are available to everyone and are a great option if you are not comfortable with worshipping in person.

Lastly, PLEASE stay home if not feeling well. The current guidelines from the CDC on isolation and quarantine can be found in the Narthex. These guidelines can also be accessed on-line at cdc.gov
Thank you in advance for doing your part.

Blessings,
WBUMC Covid Committee
